With the launch of product.careers, we also kicked off our series of PM Stories. These are short (~5 minutes or less) videos in which experienced Product Managers discuss how they got started, why they recommend the role, what they look for when hiring Product Managers, and offer advice for anybody considering a career in Product Management.

First out of the gate is Marty Cagan of Silicon Valley Product Group. Marty has been a Product Manager for over 30 years, starting out at Hewlett Packard, before moving on to Netscape, AOL, and eBay. These days Marty helps companies build successful product teams, delivers workshops on Product leadership, and writes extensively on Product Management. Marty is also the author of the book Inspired (amazon.co.uk, amazon.com), which is essential reading for any aspiring Product Manager.

Watch out for more videos in the series coming soon to the site. And if you are a Product Manager interested in contributing your story to the series, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
